Madison Square Garden Data Breach Confirmed Months After Hacker Attack

Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE) confirmed a data breach that stemmed from a 2025 cybercrime campaign targeting Oracle's E-Business Suite (EBS) solution. The Cl0p ransomware and extortion group exploited zero-day vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to data stored by over 100 organizations, including MSG. The incident, which involved unauthorized access between August 10, 2025, and October 21, 2025, and was discovered on December 16, 2025, exposed sensitive personal information, including names and Social Security numbers, of over 131,070 individuals, primarily employees and contractors. The data was subsequently leaked by the cybercriminals after MSG reportedly refused to pay a ransom. The Oracle EBS instance was hosted and managed by a third-party vendor.
